Day 12/40

The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren

Point to Ponder

I am as close to God as I choose to be.

Verse to Remember

“Draw close to God, and God will draw close to you.” – James 4:8a

Question to Consider

What practical choices will I make today in order to grow closer to God?

First, I will continue my everyday Bible journal. Second, I will always pray to Him and let Him know that I want to His friend. I want to have the same passion for Him like Moses, David, Jacob, and others did. Lastly, that hardest thing for me, is to be genuinely honest with Him.

My choices are short but there are a lot of meaning behind that. How about you? What choices will you make in order to grow closer to God?

Day 11/40

The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren

Point to Ponder

God wants to be my bestfriend.

Verse to Remember

“Friendship with God is reserved for those who reverence him.” – Psalm 25:14a

Question to Consider

What can I do to remind myself to think about God and talk to him more often throughout the day?

I believe I don’t need to remind myself anymore because I always thank Him everyday. I think and talk to Him often and it is already a part of my daily life that it already became a habit.

***

This is a late blog post. It should’ve been posted last night.

Due to our take home quiz, I wasn’t able to post it here. The quiz took me a lot of time to solve and it drained me to the point where I went straight to bed after reading this chapter.

Anyway, it is just a late post. Have a nice day ahead!

Day 10/40

The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren

Point to Ponder

The heart of worship is surrender.

Verse to Remember

“Surrender your whole being to him to be used for righteous purposes.” – Romans 6:13b

Question to Consider

What area of my life am I holding back from God?

I won’t put my answers here in this blog though I wrote it on my journal. Simply because my answers to this question were so personal and I want to keep it to myself and to Him.

I published this so if someone like you reads the three important things above, specifically the Question to Consider, you might want to reflect on it too. 🙂

Day 9/40

The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren

Points to Ponder

God smiles when I trust Him.

Verse to Remember

The Lord is pleased with those who worship him and trust his love.” – Psalm 147:11

Question to Consider

Since God knows what is best, in what areas of my life do I need to trust him most?

I need to trust Him most during my moments of failure. These are those moments where I often forget about Him and I just keep on drowning myself in shame and guilt.

I am amazed by how this chapter, What Makes God Smile?, is written. I can feel every word digging into my bones and into my brain making me realize that trusting Him in the midst of failure is just a test from Him and also His way of making me closer to Him.

I know we always say, “Mother knows best”, but in this chapter it clearly says, “God knows best”. Sometimes I feel that I am always left behind by my friends because most of them now are working and building a family when here I am, still struggling to pass my Civil Engineering board examination! But still, He knows what is best for me and I should start trusting Him again in helping me to cultivate my own timeline and journey in this life.

So now, the only thing that I need to do is TRUST HIM wholeheartedly because He knows what is best for me.

How about you? What areas of your life do you need to trust Him the most?

Day 8/40

The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren

Points to Ponder

I was planned for God’s pleasure.

Verse to Remember

“The Lord takes pleasure in his people.” – Psalm 149:4a

Question to Consider

What common task could I start doing as if I were doing it for Jesus?

As of now, the common task that I could start doing is my routine in my review, because that is when I procrastinate the most specifically when I can no longer comprehend and solve the mathematical or structural problem.

I am confident that if I have this kind of mindset of doing it as if I were doing it for Jesus, it will make me more focused in solving and reviewing the said problems.

How about you?
